| Our CMC-BC community continued to thrive this past year. We hit record highs in new CMCs earning their designations, the strongest pipeline of soon-to-be CMCs, and a full house of nearly 75 people in Victoria at our Annual Awards Night. We held three virtual Pathways to Consulting sessions targeted to students interested in a career in management consulting, in partnership with post-secondary student consulting clubs around the province. We co-designed a platform to engage with our vital community of FCMCs who came together to launch our ‘Ask an FCMC’ initiative, held a virtual event open to CMCs across the country on International Consultants Day last June, and conducted a thorough process to welcome four new FCMCs into their ranks. We held in-person informal mixers in Victoria and Kelowna every two months, hosted by local CMCs. We’ve been asked about mixers in Vancouver and we’ve tried it all – mixers only downtown, mixers downtown and in South Surrey etc. Unfortunately, most of the time, only the local host shows up. If anyone based in the Lower Mainland has any ideas about how to increase attendance, please do let me know – we will try anything! Based on your feedback, we refreshed our approach to our virtual monthly Third Thursday events with rotating hosts and discussion topics, shorter timeframe, and a standing link to make it easy to join. Please do come try them out – you’ll always walk away glad that you did. We launched a new Member Hub and website for CMC-BC to continue making our membership services stronger. And we’re in the process of developing a new MoU with the Certifying Institutes across the country and CMC-Canada to ensure we have a strong federation today and into the future. None of this would be possible without volunteers from our CMC-BC community who make it happen. I want to especially recognize our Council for their dedication and selflessness: |
