About the CMC-British Columbia Council
The CMC-British Columbia Council is a dedicated team of volunteer leaders who represent the voice of our members and help shape the future of the management consulting profession across British Columbia. Drawn from a range of industries, career stages, and regions, these Certified Management Consultants (CMCs), Fellows (FCMCs), and emerging professionals bring diverse insights and expertise to their governance roles. Together, they guide strategic initiatives, foster professional development, and support CMC-British Columbia’s mission to elevate consulting standards, ethics, and community impact. Through their leadership, advocacy, and mentorship, Council members are committed to growing the profession and empowering the next generation of consultants.

Rob Cupello
Rob ran his own marketing agency for 15 years before merging with NowMedia Group/Csek Creative in 2017. He brings his extensive experience in strategic marketing to every project he works on, including marketing strategies, advertising campaigns and brand developments. Born and raised in Kamloops and currently based out of both Kamloops and Kelowna, Rob’s local knowledge and love of the region is an asset to the thousands of businesses and organizations he has worked with over the years.

Brendan Smith is a Vancouver-based management consultant specializing in growth strategy for startups. He has contributed to over 60 consulting engagements across a range of industries, leading ventures from early traction to scalable, investor-backed systems. His work has driven more than $45M in revenue growth and $15M+ in capital raised.
Typically, organizations engage Brendan at key inflection points to shape strategy, align teams, and navigate high-stakes transitions. His consulting approach is grounded in structure, clarity, and collaboration, with a focus on delivering actionable strategy in high-ambiguity environments.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the UBC Sauder School of Business and is excited to contribute to the CMC-BC community and support peers in building trusted, purpose-driven practices

Eileen Lian
Eileen Lian is a seasoned strategic consultant with over 20 years of international experience in management consulting, corporate development, and business transformation. She has advised senior leadership teams across industries and geographies, providing strategic insight on growth, operations, and global expansion.
Eileen has worked closely with executive boards and senior stakeholders on high-impact initiatives related to strategy development and business transformation. Her leadership roles at IBM, Nokia, Capgemini and several finance and tech firms reflect her ability to drive change and deliver results in complex, multicultural environments.
In addition to her professional work, she has been a board director for a local minor hockey association and a multi-year director and volunteer with a school parent council. She holds an MBA from Fordham University and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Fluent in English and Mandarin, she brings a strong cross-cultural perspective to her work.

Gilbert Tai has over 25 years of experience managing Programs and Projects in the following industries - PUBLIC: Workers' Compensation Insurance, Legal and Justice, Health Services, Science and Technology R&D. PRIVATE: Banking, Professional Services, Aviation, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Venture Creation/Start-Up.
His expertise has been leading Digital / Business Transformation programs and he is passionate about Business Process Optimization / Improvement and Re-engineering Management initiatives.
Gilbert holds the following professional certifications: CMC, CSM, CSPO, PMP & SAFE5 SP and has a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Management Information Systems and Marketing from Simon Fraser University.

As a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), MBA, and PMP with over 17 years of experience, she partners with executive sponsors and senior leadership teams to translate strategy into disciplined execution. Her experience spans enterprise transformation, governance, operational modernization, organizational change, and large-scale technology initiatives. Joanne is often engaged in environments where complexity is high, mandates are evolving, or delivery requires strategic realignment. Increasingly, her work includes supporting AI-focused initiatives and modernization efforts, helping organizations explore practical applications of emerging technologies, strengthen adoption readiness, and align innovation with business and governance objectives.
